From April 26 to 29, 2024, BPS-Statistics of Sabang Municipality held a Village Potential Data Collection (PODES) Field Enumerators Training. This activity is an important part of efforts to strengthen the national statistical system and make a meaningful contribution to development at the local level. The training was a resounding success, held for three days, using online methods on April 26-27, 2024, and offline on April 29, 2024 at the BPS-Statistics of Sabang Municipality Hall.
This activity began with an opening and direction delivered directly by the Chief Statistician of Sabang Municipality , Mr. Ir. Maimun, who set the tone for an invigorating and productive event. In his speech, he emphasized the incredible potential of PODES data collection as a tool to describe the potential of an area, both at the village, sub-district, and regency/municipality levels throughout Indonesia. He also highlighted the role of PODES data that is needed by various parties in the planning and development process. Then, he mentioned the importance of PODES in the context of increasingly complex developments, which is really exciting! “The Village Potential Data Collection (PODES) data is able to describe the potential of an area at the village, sub-district, and regency/municipality levels throughout Indonesia. This data can be used by various parties in need,” he explained.
In this activity, an accountability report was also explained by Mr. Meiza Aulia SP, as the Head of the General Subdivision of BPS-Statistics of Sabang Municipality. Then, the activity continued with technical material for 4 field enumerators and 1 PODES supervisor by Mr. Hendra Gunawan SE as the regional instructor. The hope is that through this training activity, the field enumerators will be able to carry out field tasks accurately. This training is not only a learning moment for the field enumerators, but also a concrete step in ensuring the availability of accurate and relevant data for various development purposes in Sabang Municipality.
